This course is a blended course comprised of two weeks online followed by two weeks at the designated Training Facility in Prince George.
RDW LEVEL 1
Mar 14 - 25 online / Mar 28 - Apr 8 in-person. The online training will be held during school hours of 8:00am – 3:00pm. This training will include the use of Google Classroom and a Google Sites textbook. This will be instructor led via Zoom presentations (typically one in the morning and one in the afternoon), as well as videos to view, assignments and quizzes to complete during the day. The instructor will be available during the day to answer questions via Google classroom, Zoom and phone. The online portion will cover Intro to the Roofing Trade, Overview of Roofing Systems, Safety, Hoisting & Rigging, Tools & Equipment, and Math.
The in-class portion will dive into Low Slope (BUR) Roofing and Steep Slope (Asphalt Shingles) Roofing.
A Google Gmail account will be required if you don't already have one. This is something we can set up with you.
The Roofer, Damp & Waterproofer program is designed for those working toward a career in commercial and/or residential roofing. This course provides training in all aspects of roofing, damp and waterproofing from damp proofing of foundations, ponds, bridges and floors, to all types of flat and sloped roofs, such as tile, slate, composite wood, metal tile, modified bitumen, thermoset, thermoplastic, built up roofing, insulation, and vapor barriers. This course also includes instruction on safe working procedures, tools and equipment, torch safety, first aid, fall protection and WHMIS.
This program combines both work-based and in-school technical training and is designed to be completed over a three year period. View the program profile.
3600 work-based hours (by the end of Level 3)
Successful completion (achieve 70% or higher) of 12 weeks in-school technical training (4 weeks per level)
Achieve 70% or higher on the Interprovincial Red Seal Examination

To register for Level 2 or Level 3 training, an apprentice must have successfully completed the previous training level.
The recommended hours for each level are as follows:

Written cancellations received by the RCABC up to ten (10) working days prior to the course date are subject to an administration fee of $100.
Written cancellations received by the RCABC less than ten (10) working days prior to the course date will not be refunded.
Refunds are issued directly to the credit card account originally used when tuition fee payment was paid.
This cancellation fee will not apply in the event of an illness (doctor note required), or medical on non-medical emeregency.
