Roofer, Damp and Waterproofer (RDW) - Level 1 - #1000-0160 - Oct 28 to Nov 22, 2019 - V I C T O R I A, V A N C O U V E R - I S L A N D
This course provides training in all aspects of roofing, damp and waterproofing from damp proofing of foundations, ponds, bridges and floors, to all types of flat and sloped roofs, such as tile, slate, composite wood, metal tile, modified bitumen, thermoset, thermoplastic, built up roofing, insulation, and vapor barriers.

THIS COURSE IS A LEVEL 1 IN VICTORIA, VANCOUVER ISLAND 

 

All apprentices are required to bring government photo ID to be eligible to write the Industry Training Authority exam during the last week of training. Apprentices should also bring safety boots, small tools, and work clothing for the shop and soft soled shoes for the classroom.

Event Description

OVERVIEW

The Roofer, Damp & Waterproofer program is designed for those working toward a career in commercial and/or residential roofing. This course provides training in all aspects of roofing, damp and waterproofing from damp proofing of foundations, ponds, bridges and floors, to all types of flat  and sloped roofs, such as tile, slate, composite wood, metal tile, modified bitumen, thermoset, thermoplastic, built up roofing, insulation, and vapor barriers. This course also includes instruction on safe working procedures, tools and equipment, torch safety, first aid, fall protection and WHMIS.

This program combines both work-based and in-school technical training and is designed to be completed over a three year period. View the program profile.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS 

  • 3600 work-based hours
  • Successful completion (achieve 70% or higher) of 12 weeks in-school technical training (4 weeks per level)
  • Achieve 70% or higher on the Interprovincial Red Seal Examination

Additional Information

To register for Level 2 or Level 3 training, an apprentice must have successfully completed the previous training level.

 

The recommended hours for each level are as follows:

Level 1 600 - 1200
Level 2 1200 - 2400
Level 3 1800 - 3600

 

Cancellation &
Refund Policy
The purpose of the RCABC Educational foundation is to provide training and education in roofing skills, which it can only do through the support of the roofing community by committing to and carrying through the commitment to register apprentices for classes and ensure that apprentices attend classes as scheduled. To initiate a refund, written notice must be provided by the individual or registering company when the student withdraws from the course.
  • Written cancellations received by the RCABC up to ten (10) working days prior to the course date are subject to an administration fee of $100.
  • Written cancellations received by the RCABC less than ten (10) working days prior to the course date will not be refunded.
  • Refunds are issued directly to the credit card account originally used when tuition fee payment was paid.
  • This cancellation fee will not apply in the event of an illness (doctor note required), or medical on non-medical emeregency.
Training dates will be confirmed within three (3) business days of receipt by RCABC of a request for training.
